Well-known French luxury brand Louis Vuitton and American premium retailer Barney's New York both opened new shops in Kobe's Iryuchi district earlier this month. The new stores are located in a premium shopping complex recently completed by Mitsui Fudosan, a major Japanese property developer.
The new Louis Vuitton shop opened on March 3 and adheres to the brand's recently introduced "Maison" store pattern. It features 1,241 square meters of shopping space and is decorated with a fusion of art and premium jewelry displays. A statue made by a New York artist decorates the center of the store. The new Kobe shop is Louis Vuitton's 9th "Maison" type shop globally and first of its kind in Japan.
The new Barney's New York store, opened on March 5, is the first Barney's New York shop in Kobe. It features 2,800 square meters of shopping space and is occupies 3 levels of the new shopping complex. It is also the first Barney's shop in Japan to offer tailor-made men's suits.
