Kanebo to Launch Spa Services in Europe

Japanese premium cosmetics maker Kanebo has announced it will launch its own branded line of beauty spas in Europe this year. Kanebo's first "Sensai Select Spa" will open in a Swiss luxury hotel in December 2009. In addition to offering esthetic treatments featuring Kanebo's own products, the spas will also sell products from the maker's luxury "Sensai" line.
Sales growth of Kanebo's luxury cosmetics in Europe have slowed as a result of the economic downtrend. Kanebo hopes the spas will offer an opportunity for more consumers to sample its luxury offerings and re-energize sales.
