On January 21, Japanese Luxury Hotel operator Hotel Okura, announced a new tie-up with Kahala Hotel of Oahu, Hawaii. The two organizations have agreed to operate their room reservations and other related services jointly in order to boost service levels.
According to the agreement, Kahala Hotel will bear the "Okura Hotel and Resorts" logo and brand name at its reservation center as well as on its souvenir memorabilia. With increases in revenue expected from this partial merger, both companies plan to vastly expand the quality and offerings of their customer service departments.
Okura Hotel has published plans for international expansion, with most growth planned for the Asia-Pacific region. From April, the Okura Hotel brand is planned to have 22 hotels in operation under its name.
