November 20, 2008

On November 18, Mercedes Benz Japan and Swiss luxury watch maker IWC unveiled plans for their collaboration on a new limited edition SL 63 AMG sports car. 200 of these limited IWC edition sports cars will be made, with 10 planned for sale in the Japanese market. All of the cars are to be designed for left-side driving. The price for the limited edition vehicle has not been announced, but the price of the stock version of the SL 63 AMG is approximately 243,000 USD.

The limited edition sports car is based on the current SL 63 AMG, but includes custom additions such as enhanced mechanical engineering and interior furnishings. Interior and exterior coordination and the inclusion of a luxury IWC Big Ingenieur model wristwatch create an enticing package overall.

A special magno-cashmere matte finish is to be used for the limited edition vehicle's exterior, with details contrasted in jet black. The trunk is equipped with a carbon fiber rear wing, and the model also features a large panorama sunroof.

Moving the inside, the doors and center control panel are to be constructed of high quality black matte carbon fiber, and the seats will be in a limited edition tobacco brown leather. The interior will be finished with matching brown piping, floor mats, and ash tray covers.
