Fujikyuko Corporation has announced it will begin offering a new line of "wine and cooking" inspired luxury villas in Yamanako Mura, Yamanashi prefecture. Located on the shores of Lake Yamanaka and at the base of Mt Fuji, Yamanakako Mura is a long established location for luxury holiday villas catering to Tokyo's urban elite.
Yamanashi Prefecture is Japan's leading center of wine production, and the new line of luxury villas are designed with the needs of wine and food gourmands in mind. The villas will offer signature design options such as "wine cellar towers" with capacity for more than 1,000 bottles of wine, "wine bars," and "open kitchens." The open kitchens will feature design characteristics such as expandable kitchen counters leading into the garden for those who enjoy barbecuing and cooking outdoors.
Up to 10 customizable villas are planned to be offered, with prices starting from 40 Million JPY (approx 400,000 USD). According to Fujikyuko officials, the target audience for the new villas is those who enjoy "wine, cooking and nature" as part of their lifestyle. Urban baby-boomers nearing retirement age and successful business people interested in acquiring a weekend home are expected to be the main buyers.
In the past Fujikyko Corporation has offered other types of "concept villas" such as such as a "Garage House" catering to the needs of car aficionados and featuring an oversized garage. The villa planners believe that the new wine and cooking inspired villas will be accepted just as strongly, given the high degree of interest shown in these areas by wealthy Japanese consumers.
