American global hotel management leader, Hilton Hotels International is set to move forward with plans to expand their various brands in Japan. From very high-end premium hotels to business hotels, in total nine different brands will be developed. Primarily the newly branded hotels will come from independently managed hotels, and by 2017 more than 50 hotels will be opened under a Hilton brand.
Under this plan it is forecasted that Hilton hotels will rival the current largest brand in scope, Prince Hotels. By making use of their worldwide network of resources the hotel chain is aiming to attract foreign business visitors, in particular wealthy guests from China and newly emerging economies.
Until now Hilton has mainly been developing two of their very high-end brands in Japan, in particular the Conrad brand. In addition to their 9 other brands, the Hilton Niseko Village in northern Japan has already opened for business. Meanwhile the major British international hotel chain Intercontinental Hotels Group has actually already begun developments of 42 hotels in Japan.
